$46.6 million secured to deliver the Southern Road Link

July 30, 2026

The proposed Southern Road Link, which AVID Property Group (AVID) is delivering as part of its Harmony masterplanned community in Palmview, Queensland, has secured $46.6 million in funding through the Queensland State Government’s Residential Activation Fund.

The $2 billion Residential Activation Fund, designed to accelerate the delivery of essential infrastructure, will be instrumental in delivering the Southern Road Link, a proposed 3.5km arterial road running from Harmony through to Caloundra Road.

This key piece of infrastructure is the third of four critical roads planned to connect Palmview to the wider community.

AVID CEO Anthony Demiris said as the wider Sunshine Coast region continues to grow, this monumental funding for the Southern Road Link is a strong signal of support from the State Government.

“Palmview’s road network will be used by more than 13,000 future residents in Harmony alone, as well as those in neighbouring communities visiting friends, family and enjoying its many parks, open spaces and amenities,” Mr Demiris said.

“We look forward to breaking ground on this vital piece of infrastructure in due course, which on completion will reduce congestion, improve travel times, and provide long term growth and benefits to the local area and community.”
